The next meeting of Service Design Talks is on March 24. The book we have chosen this time is Design-driven Innovation: Changing the rules of competition by radically innovating what things mean written by Roberto Verganti (Harvard Business Press, 2009).
Another book that puts forward Design Thinking and its importance for innovation. The reviews of the book are very positive so hopefully another interesting book to read and discuss together.
Book can be ordered through Amazon .

We’re planning to make service design drinks a monthly event from now on - the last friday of every month. If you are coming, please consider joining the mailing list and adding yourself to the Eventbrite page so other people know and we can get a feel for the numbers. We’re trying out a new venue for 2010, near London Bridge station called The Bunch of Grapes.

On 20 January we will be getting together to discuss a recently published and interesting book related to Service Design. This time it’s Tim Brown’s new book ‘Change by Design’. A must read for everyone in the field, so why not come and talk about it with a group of peers in the field?
Enough time to order the book, read it over Christmas, and be ready for some fresh perspectives by 20 January. So no excuses!
A great service design case study of Contours ladies gyms from Damian Kernahan (Proto Partners) and some wise words of experience from Ellie Nichol (BT Financial Group)

Another of those lovely, lively evenings of drinking and chatting about Service Design (and other things). Alternating between Amsterdam and Utrecht: this time it is Amsterdam again. Same place as before (Cafe Kobalt, opposite Central Station). Everyone who feels connected to this vibrant community of peers is warmly invited!
The second Service Design Thinks event will focus on the idea of ‘service design at scale’. We’ve got three really interesting speakers representing very different approaches to service design practice who’ll be sharing their experiences of designing for, and working at, large scale in services.

There’ll be a quick Service Design Drinks introduction from Damian Kernahan (Proto Partners) and an equally quick talk from Suze Ingram (Service Design Hub) to get us thinking and chatting. It’s our first meeting – so be an early adopter and come along.
Please let us know if you are coming by sending a quick RSVP to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

The 5th installment of the popular Service Design Drinks social event, organised by Lauren Tan, Nick Marsh and Jaimes Nel.
Please come and join a range of interesting people from across the world of service design at Service Design Drinks London. An opportunity to meet other practitioners and peers - and to have drinks! Brilliant.

The first in a series of practically focussed talks and debates featuring an inspiring range of practitioners from across the service design and innovation spectrum.
